Then she sent him a text: We're doing karaoke this week, darnit! Bring Hera!

Kanan had the sneaking suspicion that he was being laughed at, yes.

Hey, I can do that. When this week? Or have you not picked a date yet?

Where he was standing, karaoke was either some kind of activity one could do for fun in public, or some kind of drug that one probably shouldn't, and he was kind of dying to figure out which it was.

If he knew it involved singing, he might've tapped out immediately.

Too bad he didn't know and Ino wasn't going to enlighten him then!

Ino contemplated that.

Not Wednesday.

She was... she didn't know what she was going to be Wednesday, but it wasn't likely to be any state that would suit karaoke.

How about Thursday, then? Hera generally opens the scrapyard on Friday, and I've got training sessions with one of the students, but Thursday sits neatly right in the middle.

Kanan would know the exact moment when Summer got her flowers, because there was a nearly instantaneous text message following it that simply read:

And Kanan, who was somewhat bemused over his own flowers today (what was all that about?!), was going to chuckle and fire a text message right on back.

Saturday works. You pick the destination, and so long as I have fuel for it, we can make the trip.

I don't see why not. It's a bit dark out there, so we'll stick to the sun side of it. Cute little not-quite-a-planet with a big heart shape on it. You can take pictures, if we get close enough.

Way better than just having bragging rights, right?

Well, the natives that lived there in that dimension had made Jerry into a sort of folk hero, so a few pictures probably wasn't going to level the playing field much, but it was at least something.

He'd managed to get a break in his dunk tank duty, at least, just long enough to take the saddest, most pathetic photo of a very particular Loth-cat.

Who was still sopping wet.

That was his only reply to Rey at this point, yes.

What Kanan had said when he read this text, in person, out loud, was something along the lines of, "Yes! Wait, that's good right? Yes, of course that's good. Baby? She means the baby? Kriff, what if this means there's something wrong with the baby? Baby, you better be okay."

It took him a couple of minutes to cycle back around to, "Okay, if there was anything the matter with the baby, Kitty would have mentioned. Pull it together, Jarrus."

The text Kitty actually got, then, was a little less... frenetic.

Hey, about time she makes an appearance! You go, take care of that, I've got the bar handled. Good luck, Kitty. Say hi to her for me, would you?
