MCA #3, Friday
Kanan's head was rebelling on him.
Well. More than his head. All of his senses. If Rapture had been bad, this place had been a slow-burn flood into hell itself, the sickness creeping through everything on the island until all Kanan could feel was the poison battering at his defenses, a Force migraine gone overboard.
He hadn't been infected, no, but it had gotten bad enough that he wasn't even certain he could get out of bed today if he wanted to, and not just because he had a dog sprawled across his feet and a cat on his chest, insisting he stay put. Mostly because he was warm, granted, but at least a little bit because he wasn't whatever that creeping horror was outside.
... He wasn't inclined to argue.
This wasn't a great week to be nominally Jedi on this island, no.
[OOC: ... My Friday spam is so much simpler when most of the regulars are monsters. Open for anyone who has any business visiting/calling Kanan at home!]

"Hey..."
He sounded a bit like he'd been hit in the head by a brick. So, pretty good, compared to how he felt!

"... Not especially. I mean. I'm fine. It's everything else that isn't."
This was even true!

She didn't knew enough about how the Jedi thing could affect someone like that, so mostly that sounded ominous.

"Something's poisoning the water," Kanan offered. And then sighed. "And then the water is poisoning everything else. Which, in turn, is spreading... more poison."
Poison was such a toned-down word for that.

"No," Kanan sighed. "No, I'm not. A lot of people are, though, a lot of everything is. And I can feel that, too. The Force itself is screaming from it."
Well. That might have been personifying the Force a little much, but it was the easiest way to explain it.

"At home with a couple of housepets pinning me to my back," Kanan admitted. "I made off with Summer's cat, and Stance is... Stance."
And wasn't Kanan relieved he hadn't taken the pup by the park on Monday in his vest-vesty-vest?

"They definitely know what they're on about," Kanan conceded.
Pancakes had almost been lunch, after all.
"Until this one passes over, I'm going to probably be taking it easy."

Kanan sighed a little, not wanting Rey to feel like she had to rush to leave him alone.
"I'm okay," he muttered. "At least let me know how you're doing today, first?"
... He still worried.

"Okay. Good."
Kanan... might have sounded a little more relieved than he had intended to. In fairness, most people in his life were some manner of not okay or another. Hearing that Rey was safe and sound somewhere was probably the best thing to happen to him all week.

Kanan breathed out a soft laugh.
"Go on, then. Get your work done. Maybe next week will be better."
He didn't think he'd get much by way of sleep. He wasn't going to worry her by saying so.

And make nerf burgers and caf for Kanan. Hey, she could at least make that.

"Dammit, Pancakes," Kanan muttered. "Come on, get up before I waste away, cat."
Pancakes started purring. And kneading Kanan's chest.

A few moments later, Kanan was easing himself into a sitting position, half-slumped forward, reaching up a hand to rub at the side of his head.
"I mean, we're going to feed her anyway, right?"
He hadn't exactly had a time to swing by anywhere for cat food. There had been a very upset cat writhing around in his arms at the time.

A sigh.
What would be the point? By Monday, this would all be better anyway.

"Maybe," Kanan replied. And then sighed and shook his head. "We're probably better off right where we're at, though. The last thing we need is one of the animals traipsing through a puddle on the way to the ship."
And then being stuck on the ship with said animal.

A ringing endorsement for the island, Kanan.

They probably didn't want to all get crammed into the cargo hold, but just to get from point Aurek to point Besh? Maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
