The Escape, Saturday Morning
As sometimes happened, Kanan's supplies were running low. He needed to re-fuel his ship, top up his medkit with bacta patches, grab emergency rations for his ship, and he really couldn't get away with putting any of those things off any longer. And since he happened to know a certain somebody who had been grappling with homesickness for some time now, he had called up Sabine, asking if she was up for making a routine supply run back home, in case there was anything she wanted to top up on herself.
Kanan had no idea if she actually needed anything or not, but he hadn't been surprised when she'd agreed to come along. He imagined she'd come up with something to justify the trip, if nothing else.
"Same rules as last time," he said easily as he steered the ship up, out of atmosphere and into orbit, "you're welcome to bring anything you like back, just so long as it's properly contained. Explosives are welcome on this ship, explosions aren't."

So, how could they get out of here?
"It's great here," the monkey laughed. "We've got comfortable beds made of leaves, and all kinds of trees, and birds that do have tails!"
He cackled again, and then jumped up again, back into the tree. A moment later, the Escape was slipping another few feet. Kanan's eyes went wide, his hand shot up, and the whole ship stuttered to a stop in mid-air.

He had kind of hoped to be able to do that first. But okay, monkey.

She returned a moment later, gesturing in that direction. "There's a clearing over there, should be big enough."
no subject
Sigh.
He would deal with monkeys and lions in a minute. For now, he was, you know. Lifting a light freighter. With his brain. No big.
The lion was watching this with no small amount of awe, at least.
no subject
And if the monkey dared to interrupt, so help her.

"Portalocity is getting a sternly-worded letter," he muttered. "Space."

She probably wasn't familiar with Master Yoda's weird little idioms, Kanan.
Brave Heart was still staring up at him in awe.
"And you did all that without a belly badge??"
Kanan gave that lion the weirdest side-eye.
no subject
"It's kind of like an internal belly badge," she tried.

That look Kanan was giving him just went about three shades more irritated.
"Really?"
no subject
"Hey! How about we check the ship to make sure we can get home?" she suggested.
no subject
That would be the sound of the ship's engine's powering on, right there, coupled with, unsurprisingly, the sound of a giggling monkey.
"Oh, FRAK THIS."

"Playful Heart really doesn't mean any harm, he just... gets carried away," Brave Heart was insisting, a bit wide-eyed. "What are those?"

Said Kanan, of his stolen ship.
Brave Heart continued to trip along behind, waving his paws up in the air.
"Wait, wait! There's no need this needs to get mean-hearted!"
"Space," Kanan complained. "Really?!"
no subject
Not that she'd shoot at it. This was a warning.

And Brave Heart was stopping to the other side of the ship and giving a roar.
... Or, rather, he yelled the word, "ROAR!" really, really loudly. Kanan rolled his eyes.
And then a trumpeting sound called back.
And a howl. And a yowl. And from somewhere near a river not far off, a... peep. And as those calls sounded, more animals came running out of the forest. A blue dog. A pink elephant. A purple penguin and a raccoon in a similar hue. A green lamb. And so on, and so forth, all stepping up to form a circle around the ship, and... yelling at it.
After a few moments, very sheepishly (with apologies to Gentle Heart), Playful Heart peered up from the cockpit and smiled, first at Sabine, and then at Kanan.

She'd deal with the- sigh- pastel friends of his in a second, because for some crazy reason she wasn't much with trusting Playful Heart today.

Kanan didn't hesitate from there. That was a Force leap right up and onto his ship again, so that he could make damn sure there was no damage done.
... Beyond whatever it might have gotten from the tree.
no subject
That was.... a lot of colorful animals.
no subject
"We've definitely got it handled," he said, after a few seconds taken to process what it was he was seeing here.
... If he didn't know better, he'd think that this place was at least tangentially related to the place he'd gotten Stance from.
The animals all looked at one another, and then to the lion, and then back to Sabine and Kanan. The lion cleared his throat.
"If you're sure there's no way we can be of assistance..."

Kanan, for his part, mostly just frowned at his control displays as the diagnostic scans finished up.
"Well," he mused, "the good news is that the worst of the damage is a bunch of leaves and twigs jammed in the wing joints."
