The Escape, Saturday Morning

As sometimes happened, Kanan's supplies were running low. He needed to re-fuel his ship, top up his medkit with bacta patches, grab emergency rations for his ship, and he really couldn't get away with putting any of those things off any longer. And since he happened to know a certain somebody who had been grappling with homesickness for some time now, he had called up Sabine, asking if she was up for making a routine supply run back home, in case there was anything she wanted to top up on herself.

Kanan had no idea if she actually needed anything or not, but he hadn't been surprised when she'd agreed to come along. He imagined she'd come up with something to justify the trip, if nothing else.

"Same rules as last time," he said easily as he steered the ship up, out of atmosphere and into orbit, "you're welcome to bring anything you like back, just so long as it's properly contained. Explosives are welcome on this ship, explosions aren't."

Sabine was starting to follow, though she stopped when she heard that.

"What's so funny?"

"I'd say more likely an 'or something," Sabine said, checking her blaster just in case, because look, when you'd just been talking about weird stuf Fandom did, and then you ended up crashing somewhere brightly-colored and unexpected, you maybe didn't trust it.

"I'm not sure what I was expecting," Sabine said, "but it wasn't this."

She still wasn't counting on it not trying to eat them.

Look, you never knew.

So, it was sentient, at least.

"We never had them," Sabine told it. "Does everyone have tails... wherever we are?"

"Sorry," Sabine said, very glad her facial expressions didn't show here, because what even was this place. "We didn't mean to be in your tree. We'd like to not be, uh, nesting."

"No no no not like that!" Sabine said quickly, holding onto whatever was nearest and no letting go. "We'd get hurt like that. We'd like to get down safely."

Sabine was not above hurting the monkey.

"Safely!" Sabine said again, because this was very important from where she was not out of the ship, though if there was one more lurch she was chancing getting right the hell out.

And that was Sabine immediately climbing onto the hull and launching herself at the nearest sturdy branch, pulling herself up onto it without much difficulty.

"Does the word 'safe' mean something different here?"

"Thank you!" Sabine called, since if the ship got damaged it lessened their chances of getting out of the place where a grinning monkey was obviously trying to kill them.

"On it," she confirmed, while glaring daggers at the monkey that it couldn't see.

Sabine sighed.

"Please let this one be helpful."

Because dropping the ship five feet at a time was not.

"We're trying to get our ship down without breaking it," Sabine said. Maybe if she phrased it that way? Did she have to specify 'do not break'?
