Kanan Jarrus, The Last Padawan (

MCA #3, Monday Morning
Kanan hadn't really intended to last night, but there'd been a dog and a busy work shift and a lot of thinking to do with not a whole hell of a lot of answers, and while his day had ended with him falling asleep on the couch wondering why the hell a Jedi would carry a blaster and hide his lightsaber, this morning had brought a certain sort of clarity to the answer that had led to a good few minutes biting back the rising taste of bile in his throat as the last ten years of his life all caught up to him again.
He was dimly aware that maybe he should check on people. Make sure Hera was doing fine, call up Kaidan and let hm know he had checked back in, mentally. Do the same with Jack and Kitty and see how Eliot was faring after the weekend. But instead he was just sort of sitting on the couch, eyes shut, hands buried in his too-short hair while he quietly reminded himself that Jedi didn't hate, even if in this moment, he very thoroughly hated this island, this morning, and the person he'd become, instead of the person he apparently could have been.
... And his hair.

He was never wearing those hats, Jack.

Don't test her, ickle.

Your currently naked-ass chin?
no subject
It was a little Sithy.
no subject
It was excellent! It was black and had a mysterious cowl. Black hid blood! It looked edgy!
..Ok, no. That was a terrible cloak and she knew it.

...
I'll just lay low for a while.

Jack watched a lot of TV. She'd missed everything but the Kevin Costner version. Her luck with movies was terrible.
Laying low sounds like a good plan. We got magic and shit on the island, right? Don't suppose there's some fucking wizard with a hair-grow spell or something?
no subject
Said the space wizard.
no subject
You could ask him anyway. He might want a distraction too.
no subject
He might, at that. I'll see if I can corner him before it's all a moot point anyway.
no subject
A beat.
Soooo... I'm a bitch.
no subject
Oh no. Why?
This had to be going somewhere instead of just being, like, a casual statement. Right?
no subject
It was very much not a casual statement. Jack wasn't sure now how she really felt about the event. It had been nice hanging out with Seivarden when she forgot she was a disaster bitch.
But she was also kind of smugly pleased at the payback for that 'reeducation' bullshit.
A clue: She forgot she wears gloves.
Another text.
In case you go to Peter's place and wonder why she's a raging unholy bitch. I expect she's not pleased.
no subject
I don't go to Peter's place these days. Seivarden and I aren't openly antagonistic toward one another anymore, but I don't trust that'll last.
There was a long pause before he added, Why'd you do it?
no subject
Yeah. No.
Did you know that nail polish is reason to send someone for fucking re-education in the Radch? Two of my boyos paint their nails.
Reason enough.
no subject
There are a lot of things about the Radch you wouldn't like, I think.
Annexations, ancillaries...
She pulled 'uncivilized' out on one of your boys, huh?

He was a little afraid to ask, but...
You know what bare hands mean to the Radchaai?

Jack knew it wouldn't be Kaidan Seivarden went for if she went for anyone at all. Kaidan was a walking mass of muscle that could break Seivarden with one hand tied up behind his back.
no subject
She'd definitely have an interesting time coming at Kaidan about anything, granted.
