The Ghost, Parked at the Junkyard, Friday Afternoon

Credit where it was due, Kanan had actually gone outside today like a crazy person to check out the snow situation at the park. Stance had even come along, and had promptly needed a rescue from where he had gleefully belly-flopped into snow that rose well above his head. It had been hilarious, and had kind of made it perfectly clear that sword training in the park was going to be a no-go today.

And so anybody crazy enough to be out there looking for Kanan swinging his lightsaber around would instead be met with two sets of footprints, one human, one canine, leading back across the street to the junkyard, into the ship landing area, and right up to board that nice jewel-shaped freighter that Hera called her own. She was gracious enough to let him train his student in the cargo hold today, which he actually texted Tip about to let her know, and the ship had the added bonus of being heated and having a caf maker.

Really, why did he ever train outside?

Today, rather than doing personal training while he waited, he was rummaging for hot chocolate mix, running the caf maker, and trying to find a good place to situate a wet dog so that he couldn't cause mayhem around the ship. He suspected Chopper would be willing to take that last bit over before too long, if only because Chopper liked having someone to boss around.

[OOC: Open! Whether you're the student who got the text, you're crazy enough to make your way to the park in that weather and noticed the tracks, or you happen to own the ship! I NEED MY FRIDAY POSTS WHATEVER THE WEATHER, OKAY.]

Hera brought in a few towels and tried to corner Stance with them. "Come on, buddy; we'll all be happier with you dry."

"Chopper!"

Chopper showed up in the doorway, extending one arm toward Stance and warbling crossly.

Chopper's tone turned annoyed and he waved his arms at Stance as he let loose a tirade.

Hera took the opportunity to run up and wrap a towel around Stance, drying him as fast as she could. "Oh, no problem. As you can see."

“He’s totally cooperative,” Hera said. “Right up until you need him to stand still.”

“Unfortunately I don’t have any bacon on the ship,” Hera said wryly. “And unless he wants to roll over on the towels, the belly rubs won’t help much, either.”

Tip would be recognizable today by the bug-eyes on her frog hat, since the rest of her was bundled RIGHT up in a giant puffy coat and a scarf up to her eyeballs. She trundled on into the ship and took a look around, noting all the many differences between Hera's spaceship and the Boov ships she knew from home.

Considering the Boov built mostly out of bubbles, the differences were legion.

"So this is what it takes to finally get you to go indoors, huh? Waist high snow drifts?"

"I can't say no to hot chocolate," Tip said, pulling off her scarf and gloves and making 'gimme' hands. "Do I get to meet Chopper, too?"

She had heard so much about the droid.

"That's what makes him sound fun," Tip said. "What did Stance do to deserve Chopper dogsitting him?"

[personal profile] intotheout 2018-03-23 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well sure! He put a lot of effort into getting so wet!" Tip said with a laugh. "He has to find the absolute worst place to shake that water off before he can dry off."
intotheout: (bright grin)

"I mean, can you think of a better time?" Tip asked. "He's got a very strategic mind, your dog. Just look at his war with the ducks."

"Thank you," Tip said, flashing Hera a bright smile in return. "It's very angular."

Because that was how you complimented a person's space ship, sure.
futurespacemom: (confused)

[personal profile] futurespacemom 2018-03-24 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
...was that a compliment, a put-down, or just a statement of fact?

"I guess?" Hera looked around. "I never really thought about it."

“Oh!” Hera laughed. “Okay, by that measure, I guess she is. Would you like a tour after your lesson?”

"It's just Hera," she said with a smile. "And no problem; I like showing people around. How are the lessons going?"
