"Where? Uh..." Having an answer to that right away would have involved being slightly more self-aware than he'd been for the past day or so. He kind of froze up for a moment, trying to do a quick mental inventory, and then settled on, "There were rocks."

Which wasn't helpful at all. He squinted a bit as he processed that fact.

"Not a big fan of rocks."

That was even less helpful.
